Role Summary:
Manages all activities related to our centralized warehouse operations and measurement service center operations. You will report to the Director, Supply Chain and can be located in either Wichita, Topeka, El Paso, Austin, Tulsa, or Oklahoma City. You will have 5 years of formal leadership experience and 7 years of experience in materials management. You will Manage 40 warehouse locations and have 8 direct reports. You will work a hybrid schedule with some days being in the office and some days working remotely. There will be frequent travel with this position.
What You Will Do
Establish department objectives that align with the strategic direction of the company’s centralized warehouse model, inventory control and measurement center activities.
Develop policy recommendations and implement procedures consistent with established strategies in these areas of operation.
Establish a strategic supplies distribution model that optimizes the supply chain, enhances operational efficiency, and ensures timely delivery of essential materials to key regions.
Manage company storekeepers and measurement service center staff engaged in material supply, inventory management activities, and meter repair and reconditioning activities.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine global company material supply and demand requirements; develop, implement and monitor performance goals and objectives.
Research, compile, and prepare performance metric reports for the following areas at a minimum:
- Inventory accuracy
- Compliance reporting
- Freight management
- Meter remanufacturingInternal customer satisfaction
Regular and reliable attendance and frequent travel is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
Preferred Bachelor's Degree business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related knowledge or experience:
Experience with and thorough knowledge of the management of materials management, and meter operations.
Experience establishing, monitoring, assessing, and prioritizing material supply operation, minimizing lead times and improved inventory management.
Experience developing and implementing strategies and oversight of performance indicators.
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience in use and application of ERP Purchasing and Inventory Management modules.
Experience with application of math, algebraic formulas, and statistics applicable to position.
Experience, training, and a leadership role in the following areas:
Materials management, inventory control and distribution logistics
Inventory planning and coordination
Plant management of natural gas meter testing, rehabilitation, and recalibration.
Experience reading and interpreting operational results in comparison to industry best practices and change management operations related to material supply activities.
Experience researching and preparing reports, agreements, and correspondence.
Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating effectively.
Supervise, direct, and train employees; working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
Develop information, conduct meetings, and make presentations to groups and individuals.
Read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver’s license.
Mobility to move in office surroundings and around job sites out-of-doors.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations and influence others.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
