God is moving and preparing OMS Asia Oceania for a great harvest through disciple making, church multiplication, and empowering churches to bless their communities. God is entrusting OMS Asia Oceania with the resources needed for this harvest. The goal of the Field Business Manager is to facilitate wise stewardship of field resources to empower OMS missionaries and OMS Asia Oceania partners to fulfill the Great Commission.
This role does not require residence in Asia Oceania. It can be done in your home country and traveling occasionally to Asia Oceania. This role will not only develop best practices for stewardship in OMS ministries, but will also empower national partners through training, mentoring, and coaching to do the same and in turn empower other nationals, resulting in the multiplication of disciples in stewardship. This stewardship of Kingdom resources will support efforts of the One Mission Society ministry framework of multiplying disciples, churches, leaders, and global workers.
Education and Experience Requirements
- 2-year degree in accounting / business / finance or equivalent experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant license preferred.
- Ability to gain a functional level of the local language.
- Education in missions, ministry, or Bible a plus.

Mentor the field bookkeeper.Mentor and / or coach bookkeepers employed by our two partner Bible schools (NBS and NTC), NEC church denomination, and Wesley School (an international school for missionary kids).Make oneself available to develop and teach classes on kingdom finance principles and practices, as well as spreadsheets and other software to ministry students and church leaders as requested by OMS-related seminaries, churches and church planters.Coach Christian entrepreneurs to run their business in a legal and responsible way that glorifies God, exemplifying Christian character and ethics throughout.Mentor and / or coach select entrepreneurs in the NEC church denomination.Consult with partner organizations to develop and maintain sound, Kingdom-based financial accounting and stewardship practices.In a consulting capacity, assist field leadership to : Provide accountability for all Mission cash assets, near-cash assets, and securities on the field.Provide accountability for all Mission assets, such as property, vehicles, equipment, and furnishings.Maintain all financial records in accordance with Mission standards.Prepare OMS Church Multiplication Budget.Perform necessary internal control procedures.Not to overspend the approved budget and reduce expenditures whenever there is insufficient income.Oversee reporting for mission employees, including gaining an understanding of employment laws on the field and reviewing reports filed by professionals.Oversee all reporting required by National laws on the field.Regularly review the accounts of all that receive and disburse Mission funds. This includes outlying centers, various mission ministries, and institutions on the field as well as such programs of the national church to which OMS contributes designated donations.Interpret field financial reports from headquarters to the Field Committee on a quarterly basis or as requested by the Field Director.Interview and engage professionals such as accountants and attorneys and oversee their work produced.Perform grant reporting for entities / individuals receiving grants from OMS, including requesting reports, reviewing reports, and communicating results to OMS global.Prepare field budget to be approved by the Field Committee and Finance.This is a support-based position that involves raising financial support through ministry partners for salary and other expenses.
