Job Summary:
The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and executing landscape construction and maintenance projects, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. This position requires a hands-on approach to landscaping while providing guidance and direction to the crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & Supervise the Landscaping Crew – Assign tasks, ensure productivity, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform Hands-On Landscaping Work – Including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers; installing mulch and rock beds; edging and trimming; and performing seasonal clean-ups.
- Hardscape Installation – Assist with the installation of pavers, retaining walls, garden beds, and other landscape features.
- Tree & Shrub Care – Prune, trim, and maintain plant health according to best practices.
- Operate & Maintain Landscaping Equipment – Use and maintain tools such as skid steers, augers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and excavation tools.
- Plan & Execute Landscape Projects – Read and interpret landscape designs, ensuring accurate implementation.
- Communicate with Clients & Leadership – Provide updates, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage Daily Schedules & Job Sites – Plan routes, track progress, and resolve on-site challenges.
- Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards – Promote a culture of safety and enforce company policies.
- Display reliable, responsible, and dependable behavior.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proven experience in landscaping, hardscaping, or landscape installation
- Knowledge of plant selection, soil conditions, and landscape construction techniques.
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team. (leadership experience preferred).
- Experience operating landscaping and hardscaping equipment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred).
- Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
