Construction General Manager
We are seeking an experienced Construction General Manager to support and grow our Dallas/Ft. Worth location in the utilities, earthwork, commercial and industrial construction industry.
Main Responsibilities:
- Implement corporate mission to meet the needs of stakeholders, including operating profit.
- Assume shared responsibility for safety and quality control policies/procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
- Lead and facilitate communication and teaming between field operations, work acquisition management, and office administrative support group.
- Facilitate proper management of company revenue and cost with the accounting group according to company process and procedure.
- Recruit/hire/train personnel with officer input.
- Plan and implement programs to acquire new work.
- Prepare studies and analyses new markets and technologies to increase profitability.
- Review investigations of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
- Represent the company in community and industry marketing/sales events/organization events.
- Masters conflict resolution with officer assistance as may be needed.
- Collects and researches data and uses intuition and experience to complement data.
- Designs work flows and procedures and develops project plans.
- Cordinates projects, communicates changes and progress.
- Completes projects on time and budget; manages project team activities.
Requirements:
- Relevant four year college degree or its equivalent (preferred).
- 10-15 related industry experience: earthwork, utilities, commercial and industrial construction.
- Previous estimating experience preferred.
- Previous construction management experience.
- Inspires and motivates others to perform well.
- Effective influence of actions and opinions of others.
- Must be able to travel daily in state and periodically out of state.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Knowledge of Database software, project management software and estimating software.
- MS Office program skills and knowledge.
- Valid drivers' license.
- Multi-lingual preferred (Spanish).
