One Tech Engineering is searching for a Payroll Specialist for a position located in Appleton, Wisconsin. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing union payroll, preparing reports, handling government taxes, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the payroll team.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a High school Diploma and at least 3 years of payroll experience.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with field management staff to collect union new hire paperwork.
- Ensure information is complete and accurate. Follow up on any issues or missing information.
- Create union employee record in ERP system, updating employment data or status changes. Ensure severance, termination, and disciplinary forms are reflected appropriately.
- Review field time entry reports for potential errors in hours, union, pay class, and per diem.
- Follow up with site teams and address as appropriate prior to payroll processing.
- Process weekly union payroll and off-cycle checks in a timely manner by importing time details and validating entries created.
- Confirm calculation of earnings, deductions, garnishments, union liabilities, and taxes.
- Ensure paychecks are distributed on time.
- Prepare monthly union remittances.
- Use system reports, calculate amounts and submit payment requests, ensuring reconciliation between liabilities accrued and payments.
- Match payments with labor details and remit to appropriate funds.
- Prepare reports, check for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies as part of business recordkeeping and compliance activities.
- Respond to and resolve any union employee payroll inquiries.
- Process employment verifications and unemployment claims by deadline outlined.
- Escalate unemployment hearing notices to Human Resources.
- Submit new hire reports to state agencies.
- Process child support and other court orders as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- High school Diploma and at least 3 years of payroll experience.
- Must have the ability to use Excel to manipulate and analyze data.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience processing construction payroll preferred.
- Experience with Oracle or other large software vendors preferred.
Salary : $23 - $31
