Intern - Medical Stop Loss / Underwriting

As a Summer Intern for 2025, you will collaborate with our esteemed Underwriting, Clinical, Claims, Finance, and Operations teams. This role promises firsthand operational exposure, involving diverse activities such as financial analysis of the book of business, conducting comprehensive company and industry research, and actively contributing to the preparation of internal presentations. Engage in direct interaction with senior leadership and external partners, gaining valuable insights into the administration of Medical Stop Loss.

Your responsibilities will extend to analyzing the book of business, creating impactful training presentations, and participating in various facets of day-to-day operations. This internship is designed to provide you with a holistic understanding of the intricacies within the industry while fostering professional growth and development. You will:

• Conduct an in-depth analysis of the book of business to provide valuable insights and support decision-making processes.
• Analyze the business portfolio to identify trends, patterns, and areas for enhancement, contributing to strategic planning and informed decision-making.
• Create impactful training presentations to facilitate knowledge transfer that will ensure a comprehensive understanding of the medical stop loss industry among team members.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Clinical, Claims, Finance, and Operations teams to gain a well-rounded understanding of the different aspects of a Managing General Underwriting.
• Participate in various day-to-day operational activities, gaining practical experience and insight into the functioning of a Managing General Underwriter.
• Engage in direct interactions with senior leadership and external partners to enhance your understanding of the administration of Medical Stop Loss.
• Utilize the internship experience as an opportunity for professional growth and development, actively seeking mentorship and learning from experienced professionals in the field.
• Be assigned a dedicated Internship Mentor & Internship Ambassador during your Internship experience
• Engage weekly with Sr. Leaders across the company on our renowned “Leadership Spotlight” Series
• Participate weekly in our “Career Enhancement” Series (Creating/Updating Your LinkedIn profile, Interviewing Best Practices, Resume Writing, Job Search tips etc.)
• Be actively involved in our “Risk Mate” Program for breakout sessions throughout the summer

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Must be a Rising Senior (Anticipated Graduation 5/26)
• Must be available for entire 10-week program
• 3.0 GPA or higher (Transcript required prior to interview)
• Must be pursuing a degree in Finance, Risk Management or Economics (previous insurance internship experience may be considered in lieu of)
• Must be available to interview in December/January 
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Must be detailed oriented and proficient with MS Office Suite
