Summary :
This position assists the teacher in planning and implementing educational programs. Incumbent is required to have patience and be sensitive and receptive to the unique needs of students in a positive manner. This is a nonexempt position and is under contract and reports to the appropriate Principal & Special Education Coordinator. Incumbent may be required to work with elementary or high school students.
Responsibilities :
Assist the Teacher in the performance of his / her daily duties.Develop and maintain learning centers.Provide one on one tutoring for eligible students if the tutoring is scheduled at a time when a student would not otherwise receive instruction from the teacher.Assist with classroom management by organizing instructional and other materials.Provide assistance with online learning.Provide instructional services to students under the direct supervision of the Teacher.Preparation of materials and supplies for instructional use.Participate in weekly project planning and set upAid the Teacher with small or large group instructions including tutoring students on an individual basis.Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.Attend parent conferences and special meetings as required.Adhere to strict confidentiality in all Oneida Nation School System matters.Participate and learn the Oneida Language and incorporate into the classroom.Work cooperatively with school personnel, parents and other community members.Practice excellent teaching and student learning skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing student and teacher needs courteously and promptly.Skills : Essential :
