What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Construction Technician - IL position at Oneida Oneida ESC Group?
OES has an immediate opening for a Transportation Construction Technician in Northern IL (Chicago area). We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work in Northern Illinois on current and future IDOT, Illinois Tollway or other local agency roadway and bridge construction projects. This full-time position will be responsible for construction oversight/inspection, materials documentation and testing, field measurements, daily diary entries, and completion of final construction documentation.
Compensation Range: $28-43/Hour (Based on Location and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two summers/year's field construction inspection experience working with Illinois Tollway, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), or other state DOT.
- Valid driver's license
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- E-Builder Certification and IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities Certification
- Experience using Civil 3D, AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Established relationships with IDOT or Illinois Tollway consultants and staff
- History of steady career advancement
- Experience working with Microsoft Suite
- Transportation Design Experience
