What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Assistant position at OneNebraska Federal Credit Union?
General Responsibilities: Engage in the oversight and supervision of assigned location staff to provide the highest quality service possible. Conduct projects and procedures as assigned that improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of operations. Make recommendations and implement assigned improvements that support organizational goals and objectives.
Description of Duties:
1. Quality Service
a. Maintain a high-level working knowledge of all products and services
b. Cross-sell products and services to members
c. Coach staff to cross-sell products and services
d. Promptly resolve member requests and questions
e. Ensure that the CU quality reputation is maintained and projected
2. Personnel Management
a. Directs Teller’s and MSR’s in their daily tasks
b. Assist in determining appropriate staffing level and prepare work schedules
c. Assist in conducting job interviews and conducting staff performance evaluations
3. Training
a. Increase the product knowledge of staff
b. Assist in determining individual staff competency and performance
c. Train newly hired staff
4. Operations Management
a. Assist in coordinating branch operations between branches and other departments
b. Assist in overseeing the physical facility, including security devices
c. Fill in and perform other branch positions as needed
d. Implement changes in policies and procedures as directed
e. Prepare periodic reports
f. Monitor operations department office supply inventory
5. Compliance
a. Learn and enforce applicable state and federal rules and regulations
b. Assist with regulatory compliance activities, including the Bank Secrecy Act
c. Assist educating staff on rules and regulations, including the Member Services Agreement
6. Technology
a. Develop significant working knowledge of the core processing system
b. Serve as trouble-shooter for core processing system operations issues
c. Obtain on-going training and provide same to staff
7. Automated Teller Machine Management
a. Load cash into machines as needed and settle amount accordingly
b. Maintain and troubleshoot machines as necessary
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Associate degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience.
Required Knowledge: A solid knowledge of financial institution services and products. Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements. General understanding of overall operations of financial institutions.
Experience Required: Three to five years of credit union, or related financial institution experience. At least two years of supervisory experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
