This position is hybrid to our Tulsa, OK, Dallas, TX or Houston, TX office.
Job Profile Summary

Provides legal advice to the company based on analysis, experience, judgment and anticipated impact as is relevant to one or more assigned areas of responsibility
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice to the company on issues related to employment and labor law matters, including hiring, discipline, terminations, workplace investigations, wage and hour compliance, collective bargaining, and other HR-related legal issues
  • Conduct legal research, analyze legal issues and interpret laws, regulations and rulings
  • Prepare and/or review employment-related policies, contracts, handbooks, settlement agreements, and other corporate documents to align with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Interact with outside counsel and/or third parties
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for HR and management on employment law compliance, labor relations, workplace harassment, discrimination prevention, and best practices for managing employee relations
  • Manage the relationship of attorney to client that encourages company leaders to know when to contact the legal department, foster free and open communication of issues, and request prompt involvement of the legal department in matters
Education
  • Juris Doctorate (ABA accredited law school)
Work Experience
  • 2 to 5 years relevant legal experience and/or expertise
  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, and best practices, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and NLRA
  • Knowledge of: company and/or industry - possess general working knowledge of clients’ business-area specific operations and general Company-wide operations
  • Knowledge of: level of client contact and service - routinely interacts with company supervisors and managers
  • Skills in: legal Analytical - Accurately identify and assess legal issues and risks for routine matters for assigned area(s) of responsibility and recommend course of action to supervisor.
  • Skills in: outside counsel relationships - ability to work with outside counsel to achieve Company results
  • Skills in: strategic planning and process improvement ability - provide relevant information and support initiatives as appropriate
  • Skills in: oral communication (effective one-on-one communications with outside counsel, and clients; conduct and participate in meetings; and prepare, conduct and participate in presentations to clients) - proficient for routine matters in assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Skills in: planning, organizing - responsible for managing assigned projects
  • Skills in: written communication (clear, concise and effective written communications, including emails, business letters and legal memoranda) - proficient for routine matters in assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Ability to: perform independent Work - regularly supervised
  • Ability to: effectively work with all members of the legal department, including lawyers, contract administrators, paralegals, and/or legal assistants
  • Ability to: influence on Third Parties (outside counsel, opposing counsel, third party representatives, and governmental agencies as appropriate for assigned area(s) of responsibility) - ability to effectively participate in negotiations on routine assigned matters within assigned area(s) of responsibility, with supervision
