Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting the organization's HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, payroll coordination, workers' compensation, safety training, and employee engagement. This role will ensure the effective and efficient operations of the HR department while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees, addressing policies, benefits, and hiring processes.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to collect and file all required documents appropriately.
  • Assists with payroll functions, including processing, answering employee questions, troubleshooting errors, and ensuring timely distribution of payments through Paycom.
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, including health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Assists in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Manages workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Develops and facilitates safety training programs to ensure compliance with workplace regulations and promote a safe work environment.
  • Supports employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company-wide events.
  • Assists with planning and execution of benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, holiday parties, and other HR-related events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation and safety training initiatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience with Paycom or the ability to quickly learn and navigate payroll management and HRIS systems.


Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of HR experience preferred.
  • Experience with payroll processing and HRIS systems (Paycom preferred).


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
