Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Horizontal Directional Drill Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and safe completion of construction and maintenance projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Must strive to ensure no strikes on underground infrastructure.
Duties
- Operate a Horizontal Directional Drill
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and achieve project goals.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any mechanical issues or concerns with equipment to the supervisor promptly.
Skills
- Have 3-4 years experience in operating a horizontal directional drill and the ability to locate for a horizontal directional drill
- Ability to set up for complex shots for congested areas
- Proficiency in loader operation, backhoe operation, grader operation, and other heavy machinery safely.
- Ditchwitch HDD familiarity a plus.
- Familiarity with water truck management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to log footage and bore shots through various applications.
