- Job Summary
- The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the processing and packaging of botanical extracts derived through supercritical CO2 extraction. This role involves monitoring, inspecting, and testing products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with FDA guidelines for food and dietary supplements, as well as internal quality and safety standards.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications
- Monitor and verify that all products comply with company, customer, and regulatory standards
- Ensure adherence to FDA requirements for food and dietary supplements, including the specific guidelines around purity, potency and safety
- Oversee critical control points in the CO2 extraction to ensure quality consistency
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all quality control checks, sample submission, test results, and corrective actions in accordance with FDA and GMP documentation standards
- Participate in internal and external audits
Work Experience
- Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong understanding of FDA regulations for food and dietary supplements
- Familiarity with GMP and HACCP principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately document and interpret quality control data
- Familiarity with CO2 extraction processes and equipment
- Proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel) for data entry and report generation
