The Specialist, Modification Processing is responsible for assisting homeowners in retaining property by reinstating their account, or restructuring their mortgage through a loan modification. This process mitigates potential losses incurred due to delinquency or foreclosure. The primary responsibility of the Specialist is to review Loss Mitigation approved loans and update the Company’s servicing system with the approved terms for various workout options. The Specialist is required to review various control reports to maintain compliance with regulatory and investor requirements. It is imperative to stay informed of changes that affect the requests made by our customers. The Specialist works with daily reports and assignments to ensure system updates align with the approved modification terms. This position entails significant data entry into multiple software applications.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Accurately record loan modification status updates in the system of record (MSP)
- Prepare modifications/subordinate mortgages and mail them to the vendor for recording with the applicable county
- Mail completed modifications to the borrower and document the investor’s custodian according to guidelines set by GSEs
- Review loan files for compliance with defined guidelines, policies and procedures; make necessary updates
- Effectively communicate any loan file concerns to supervisors
- Follow all CFPB compliance guidelines and federal and state laws and guidelines, which are documented in the team’s user manual
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other teams to ensure that files are completed in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, equivalent certification
- Two years’ mortgage service background preferred
- Strong organizational skills enabling the ease of multi-tasking quickly and effectively to meet unique changing priorities and requirements
- Maintain flexibility to meet non-negotiable deadlines in a multi-task environment with changing high priorities and unique requirements
- Results driven with the ability to problem solve using analytical thinking
- PC literate with demonstrable expertise with Excel & Word
- Notary preferred, but not required
Training / Licensing Requirements:
- Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.
Work Schedule:
- This is an office-based position.
- The required schedule is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, EST
