Role and Responsibilities
- Assist providers during examination and treatment, performing point of care tests as appropriate to skill level, certifications, and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records for patients and providers.
- Populate electronic medical records timely and accurately, including allergies, medications, vaccines, social history, and quality tab.
- Complete intake by welcoming patients, preparing them for healthcare visits, obtaining medical history, and verifying patient information.
- Document vital signs accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited healthcare program (Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT, or equivalent work experience).
- Nationally recognized Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
- Strong computer skills, EMR experience, and some MA experience required.
- BLS card current.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics.
- Athenahealth practice management system experience.
Working Conditions
- Frequent standing, use of hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talking or hearing.
- Occasional walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouch, or crawling.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds, occasional lifting and/or moving more than 25 pounds.
- Closely monitor specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
