As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant at Onset, you will have the opportunity to oversee a wide range of key operational functions. This role requires a hybrid skill set, incorporating elements of paralegal expertise, executive administration, and personal assistance. The ideal candidate will act as a utility player under our Loss Prevention and Asset Protection senior leadership, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and communication. You will also aid in maintaining legal files, assisting in legal research, and document preparation.

What your Responsibilities will look like:
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Senior Vice President of Loss Prevention & Asset Protection.
- Organize and maintain legal files, ensuring all relevant documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external legal counsel on collection matters, loss prevention, and compliance issues.
- Ensure efficiency and precision in day-to-day operations, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
- You will be crucial within our Loss Prevention and Collections team, aiding in maintaining legal files, assisting in legal research, and preparing legal documents.
- Oversee schedule management, including coordinating meetings, deadlines, and critical tasks, making travel arrangements, booking flights, accommodations, and ground transportation.
- Manage data entry with a focus on precision and attention to detail.
- Assist with research and analysis on various matters related to finance, leasing, and other areas of law relevant to the company's operations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all aspects of legal work.
- Proofread correspondence and documents.
- Uphold high ethical standards while promoting our company culture of integrity and success.
- Participate in meetings, training, and other company events.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field a plus
- Paralegal experience preferred; knowledge of collections law and loss prevention regulations is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to schedule travel arrangements quickly through a cellphone or laptop.
- Proficient knowledge of software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Ability to prioritize and self-manage as you provide support.
- Conducts themselves with poise, professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
- Patience, as the role will have ebbs and flows of demand and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
