Job Overview:
Oversee day-to-day operations for utility data and cost management services (including the bill pay program) and energy supply procurement. This role is responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring efficiency, and driving continuous improvement in processes and vendor performance. A key focus will be on optimizing vendor relationships, implementing performance monitoring systems, and leveraging automation to enhance accuracy and reduce inefficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Daily Operations:
- Manage and monitor the daily operations of utility cost and data management, bill pay, and energy supply procurement programs to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality processes.
- Vendor Performance Management & Optimization:
- Develop and oversee a structured system of checks, reporting, and performance metrics to track and improve bill pay provider and vendor performance. Identify inefficiencies and collaborate with vendors to drive continuous improvement.
- Process Optimization & Automation:
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance automation. Develop and implement tools and reporting mechanisms to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including client delivery and business operations personnel, vendors/subcontractors, utility companies, energy suppliers, clients, and other departments, to ensure seamless operations and alignment with business objectives.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Implement risk management strategies to proactively address potential issues.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Establish, track, and continuously refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success, vendor performance, and operational efficiency. Sample KPIs may include:
- Invoice processing accuracy rate
- Vendor performance improvement metrics
- Automation efficiency gains
- Client issue resolution time
- Cost savings from procurement strategies
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Conduct performance reviews, provide training opportunities, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Client Service & Issue Resolution:
- Ensure exceptional client service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues related to utility data and cost management, and proactively identifying areas for service enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in business operations management within a high-volume, business-critical environment, preferably with experience in energy and utilities (regulated and deregulated energy supply).
- Proven expertise in operations management, process improvement, and quality control, with a strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma or other efficiency-driven methodologies.
- Experience with automation tools and data analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Oracle), along with a strong ability to leverage data for operational improvements.
- Vendor management experience, with demonstrated success in tracking, evaluating, and improving vendor performance.
- Excellent budgeting and cost control skills, with a strategic mindset toward financial efficiency.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and external partners.
- Hands-on approach, with high attention to detail in managing deadlines, vendors, and data-driven decision-making.
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
