Packaging Operator II

Job Summary:

We are looking for a hardworking, motivated individual, who can provide the responsibility for the operation of process equipment, tend to the product as it is ready to be packaged and loading bags according to customer orders. It requires frequent moving, exertion of moderation to heavy physical effort, and standing. This position also offers the potential for growth and advancement within our organization.

Shift: (Packaging Operator)

• 2nd Shift: 3 PM - 11:30 PM

Duties: (Packaging Operator)

• Set up, operate, and monitor various packaging equipment
• Safely and properly operate packaging equipment and/or appropriate machinery
• Load bags according to customer order
• Operate forklift for moving of pallets
• Thoroughly follow batch tickets to meet customer requirements
• Remove bag once it is loaded and stack on pallet
• Adhere to all company safety requirements/policies and procedures
• Immediately report all quality issues to the Production Supervisor

Qualifications: (Packaging Operator)

• High school diploma or GED and/or 1-2 years of experience in this field of work
• Strong reading, writing and comprehension abilities
• Demonstrates ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Attention to detail
• Ability to do basic math and use a calculator

Requirements: (Packaging Operator)

• Capable of meeting the physical demands of this position, including standing, walking, and lifting for long periods of time
• Ability to kneel, crouch, bend, reach, climb ladders, pull, and push up to 55 LBS
• Ability to do basic math and use a calculator
• Strong reading and writing skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and contribute to group goals
• Forklift operating experience is a plus
• Rolling and palletizing drums weighing up to 500lbs
• Support ISO standards, environmental and quality programs
• Learn and implement all safety and waste handling procedures
• Ensures that all safety and housekeeping procedures are followed
• Willingness to become cross trained in multiple departments
• Experience with basic sanitation practices
• Minimal computer skills
• Perform other duties as required

• Inside/Outside/Hazardous materials
• Fumes/Dust (Respirators required in designated areas)
• Loud Machinery (Ear plugs and/or muffs required)
• Overhead work (Hard hat required)
• Confined space entry
