What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Director position at Onsite?
The Accounting Director is responsible for oversight of all accounting functions for the organization including AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Payroll, Cash Management, Tax, GL, and Revenue Recognition. The Director will lead the accounting team, oversee overall month and year-end closing processes, provide financial analysis, and more. The Director will assist the VP with process improvements, annual budget preparation, annual financial review and tax preparation, and ad hoc reporting. This position has a direct line to the organization’s financial stability and health and works with key stakeholders to adequately prepare for, budget for and prioritize change efforts and follow through.
ABOUT THE DAY-TO-DAY IN THIS ROLE:
- Oversee and continue to develop the Finance team to reinforce effective adherence to GAAP, and continue the organization’s commitment to financial excellence.
- Prepare monthly GL entries, including inventory, accruals, prepaid expenses, and others as needed.
- Ensure accuracy of accounting functions and oversee month end close and reporting through entries, review, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Assist VP with departmental and organizational budget process.
- Assist with annual financial review and tax preparation alongside external accounting partners and organizational leadership.
- Provide support and recommendations on strategic decisions around expense management, growth, profitability, and planning.

NOTE: This position is located in Cumberland Furnace, TN and would require a relocation to the Nashville market. The position also allows for hybrid work during the week as well.

IDEAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE:
We are open to candidates of all backgrounds, experience and education levels. After all, years of experience is just a number. That said, we believe that candidates with the following backgrounds will be well-suited to succeed in this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
- 5 years of relevant experience, with 2 years in a supervisor role
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced proficiencies in Excel, Sage Intacct Software experience a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to overcoming challenges
- Self-starter that can manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
