NATURE OF WORK:
An employee in this class assists higher level employees in a variety of routine and repetitive manual tasks. Any problem or situation encountered that is out of the ordinary is referred to a supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to lift moderate to heavy weigh (80-100 pounds), stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, push ,pull, reach, climb ladders and work on scaffolding, for extended periods of time.
- Ability and physical strength sufficient to move heavy objects.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Must be able to obtain a CDL permit within 6 months and CDL license within 1 year of hire
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- High school diploma earned at a regionally accredited school required.
- Some experience performing manual tasks preferred.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
SALARY: Salary Grade 50
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Loads and unloads materials, equipment, or supplies.
- Transports materials to work or school sites.
- Picks up trash.
- Digs holes, ditches, or trenches.
- Cleans work area after repairs or installations.
- Uses power washer to clean buildings or walkways.
- Cleans gutters.
- Moves furniture.
- Performs other duties as specified by Maintenance Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
