POSITION TITLE:
Assistant Director for Human Resources and Professional Development
REPORTS TO:
Chief of Human Resources and Student Services

- Ability to effectively present information and training to a variety of audiences
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Current North Carolina Educator’s License Required
- Masters of School Administration Degree Required
- Minimum 5 Years Successful Educator Experience
- Completion of Mentor Training and Educator Evaluator Training Preferred
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
SALARY: Administrator Level 3
FLSA Status: Exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate selected recruitment and retention initiatives for all personnel
- Coordinate university campus recruitment schedule
- Represent OCS at employee recruitment events
- Facilitate and coordinator Future Teachers of Onslow events and activities
- Serve as district level ADA Coordinator
- Serve as district level Title IX Investigator
- Facilitate orientation of new employees, including new teachers
- Interpret Beginning Teacher Program requirements to various audiences
- Provide leadership for school level Beginning Teacher Coordinators
- Facilitate training for new mentors and peer observers; conduct other training as needed
- Coordinate activities to provide support for National Board Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) licensure candidates
- Prepare for audits of all HR related programs
- Serve as NCEES District Administrator
- Work with university partners to place field experience and internship students
- Manage and schedule the Effective Teacher Training Program
- Draft and edit district human resources and professional development documents
- Facilitate the approval, scheduling, registration, and documentation of district renewal credit activities for current staff
- Assist with student services processes as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
- Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull.
- Ability to operate technology for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with staff and students.
- Must be able to drive to variety of school sites.
