What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director position at Tailwind Concessions?
The Tailwind Hospitality HR Director is responsible for developing and executing the company's overall human resource strategy, overseeing all aspects of employee management including recruitment, hiring, termination, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training, and development, while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations as a multi-state employer, while reporting to the President and CEO.
**Note-This is an on-site role located in Wilmington, NC**
Key responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Managing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring positive working relationships. Oversee investigations and act as point of contact for high-level conflicts.
- Performance Management: Overseeing performance appraisal systems in collaboration with business needs including providing training to on-site and Operations partners to support introductory reviews, annual reviews, and performance documentation.
- Compensation and Benefits: Administering company compensation plans, benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Works collaboratively with CFO to build cost-effective and enhanced benefit plan offerings.
- Compliance: Staying updated and compliant on employment laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures as a multi-state employer. Supporting M&A activities including due diligence, onboarding, and integration.
- Leadership and Team Management: Leading and motivating the HR team, assigning tasks, and fostering a positive work environment. Viewed as a trusted partner across all business functions to foster a cohesive and productive work environment.
- Strategic Planning: Developing , enhancing and implementing comprehensive HR strategies.. Identify areas for improvement by enhancements in technology, process, and/or organizational restructuring.
- Talent Acquisition: Support the recruitment and hiring process by collaborating with the Operations and Administration teams. .
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing HR metrics to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding workforce strategies. Identifying areas for cost-containment and optimization in HR practices.
Required Skills of the HR Director:
- Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to influence a diverse group stakeholders across the organization.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and strategic planning to align HR initiatives with company goals.
- Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Problem-solving and Conflict Resolution Skills: Effectively managing complex employee issues and conflicts.
- Change Management Expertise: Ability to navigate organizational changes and implement new HR initiatives.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or public administration, or related field; AND three (3) years of professional Human Resources program management and recruitment experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Five (5) years of leadership and management experience in an HR position
- HR certification(s) preferred (i.e., PHR; SHRM-CP; SPHR; SHRM-SCP)
- Experience in food & beverage or hospitality industries preferred
Additional considerations:
- On-site role located at company headquarters in Wilmington, NC
- Travel consideration- 0-15%
- Satisfactory TSA background check will be required if travelling on behalf of the company
