What are the responsibilities and job description for the Income Maintenance Supervisor position at Onslow County?
Performs difficult administrative and technical work supervising employees who determine and/or re-determine applicants' and/or clients' eligibility for one of the income maintenance programs (intake, processing and review functions), and may also provide administrative and technical supervision to employees who review these cases for accuracy and/or quality review purposes and/or related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Income Maintenance Program Manager. Continuous supervision is exercised over Income Maintenance Caseworkers, Income Maintenance Specialized Caseworkers and/or Program Integrity Investigators.

Associates/Technical degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker

- Responsible for the supervision of Income Maintenance Caseworkers, Income Maintenance Specialized Caseworkers and/or Program Integrity Investigators who are involved in the intake, processing, and review of applications and recertifications to determine eligibility and accuracy for programs in the Economic Services division of the Department of Social Services which include: Food and Nutrition Services, Work First Family Assistance, Medicaid, Long Term Care (LTC), Community Alternatives Program (CAP), Special Assistance (SA), Child Care, Low Income Energy Assistance, Crisis Intervention.
- Plan short and long-range work operations, priorities, and goals within income maintenance casework units and/or the units assigned to review or investigate income maintenance workload.
- Assign and balance workloads within units to coordinate workflow; develops procedures and recommends minor organizational changes to improve efficiency.
- Provide on-the-job training for Income Maintenance Caseworkers, Income Maintenance Specialized Caseworkers and/or Program Integrity Investigators; conducts training needs assessments; arrange for employees to attend job-related training.
- Ensure all Income Maintenance Caseworkers and/or Program Integrity Investigators adhere to Federal and State standards regarding the quality of work required to process income maintenance cases.
- Coordinate all federal, state and county audits in Economic Services eligibility programs.
- Review and recommend agency standards for income maintenance programs.
- Evaluate staff performance and make recommendations regarding personnel action, counsel staff regarding performance and employee personnel policies.
- Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member.
- Performs related work as required.
