Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world's aviation leaders. Ontic's Creedmoor, NC, site is home to a number of specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Firstmark, Twin Commander, and Metro Merlin. With over 1,300 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace.
Our team is looking for a Metrology Engineer to join them. You will report to the Director of Quality and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, NC.
To be considered for the Metrology Engineer opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field
- 3-7 years of experience in metrology or quality assurance, with leadership or managerial experience preferred
- Strong background in calibration, maintenance, purchase and operation of precision management instruments
- Experience with quality systems, standards, and regulatory compliance including : ISO17025, AS9100, ISO9001 or similar
- Expertise in metrology equipment including CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), laser and visual measurement tools, and other precision tools
- Certification in metrology (e.g. NCSL, ASQ, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve measurement-related issues
- Knowledge of statistical methods and software used in metrology (e.g., Minitab, SPC software).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of metrology software and ERP systems is a plus
- Familiarity with SAP for purchase requests, purchase orders, change orders, receipts and invoicing
