Job Summary & Responsibilities This is an engineering technical lead position includes defining project goals and requirements, developing solution architecture, working with program management to develop the plan and budget for projects. It requires full system knowledge and analytic ability, while working with other experts within the organization to develop highly effective, efficient solutions. Projects include optical inspection and metrology systems using a wide range of optical technologies and platforms. Healthy collaboration will include all stakeholders, from customers and marketing through supply chain, production, field service and applications engineering. Drive for personal growth, desire for continuous Education. Qualifications Develops system and subsystem requirements and architecture. Able to lead this effort for small/medium projects. Develops the definition and implementation of requirements for subsystems. Able to write requirements for certain features including calibration. Signs off on designs as Subject Design Expert in areas assigned. Contributes to design reviews for modules and subsystems assigned. Understands and applies design review rigor and design for X techniques: such as design for performance, value, integration, outsource ability, manufacturability, maintainability, diagnostics, serviceability, total cycle time, COGS, quality, reliability, regulatory, etc. Conducts feasibility or trade off studies to support subsystem architecture design decisions. Develops system error budget calculations. Writes test plans for modules and may lead the data analysis and completion of these tests. Conducts high level systems testing and troubleshooting of new systems. Able to write or make significant contributions to the test plans for improvement projects and subsystem/system testing. Provides contributions to decisions on vendor selection, NRE spending and vendor management. Able to resolve issues for tools in manufacturing or in the field. Familiar with the divisional product roadmaps. Able to communicate effectively with peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, with customers, vendors and across cultures. Able to give effective technical presentations up to the PLC level. Conducts problem solving on complex system issues. Knowledge in optical analytical techniques, metrology, spectroscopy.
