Your Role:

As a Software Engineer, you will be contributing to the design, development, testing, prod releases, and on-call support on React JS-based UI frameworks and backend systems for Chewy applications.

What You'll Do:

• Design and develop UI Components using ReactJS & frontend technologies focusing on scalability, latency, and resiliency.

• Actively participate in architecture and code reviews to deliver high-quality code.

• Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos, and retros.

• Make meaningful contributions to the team's service architecture, data architecture, dev-ops, infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, and public cloud services as part of a software development team.

• Adhere to enterprise architecture and coding standards.

• Create, enhance, or integrate APIs using ReactJS and Java.

• Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshooting production issues, and operational excellence.

• You will have responsibility over components of Chewy’s systems – both development and operational needs.

• Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.

• Debug production issues in Chewy services and tech stack.

• Be a hands-on Engineer spending most of your time writing code or debugging complex issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (CS-related preferred) or equivalent work experience.

• 4 years of experience in front-end technology.

• Minimum 3 years of software development experience in ReactJS framework.

• Minimum 1 year of software development in Java / Spring Boot stack.

• Experience in professional software engineering practices throughout the full software development lifecycle, including designing, developing, conducting code reviews, managing source control, overseeing build processes, testing, deployment, and operations.

• Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals – object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.

• Analytical abilities and design skills & a working knowledge of design patterns.

• Experience with designing, building, and deploying features.

• Ability to learn domain knowledge in e-commerce.
