What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Facilitator position at Onyx Behavioral Health LLC?
Onyx Behavioral Health LLC is a 33-bed Level 1A Residential Mental Health Treatment Facility located in Port St Lucie, FL. We’re currently looking for part-time group facilitators to provide mental health group counseling.
The ideal candidate will be available for approximately 8 hours/week: 4 hours/day, ideally Thursday and another day.
The Group Facilitator is responsible for providing patient care activities specifically group facilitation to patients, educating on mental health and substance abuse disorders, coping skills, and necessary life skills.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or another health and/or human services related field.
- A Licensed Clinical Professional in possession of a valid Florida License such as LMHC or LCSW, preferred OR registered interns with the state of Florida.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office365 Suite, preferred.
- Knowledge of KIPU EMR is a plus but will train.
- Must be able to pass an AHCA Level II Background Screening.
- CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a chemical dependency or mental health setting, preferably in an inpatient residential setting.
- Experience with group facilitation.
- Experience with PTSD, Trauma, Veterans, and First Responders preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
- CPR/First Aid certification required.
- A Licensed Clinical Professional in possession of a valid Florida License such as LMHC or LCSW or registered interns with the state of Florida, preferred not required.
KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of AHCA & The Joint Commission Standards.
- Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills.
- Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Client Confidentiality laws.
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION:
- Provides mental health counseling in the form of group counseling sessions using various therapeutic modalities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of mental health disorders and utilizes knowledge and skills to access and meet the residents’ treatment needs and requirements.
- Develop and implement group treatment plans based on individual needs and goals.
- Proficient in the documentation process that includes but not limited to clinical progress notes, treatment planning, and all other pertinent clinical documentation.
- Ability to work as a team member, demonstrating maturity under stress and objectivity.
- Demonstrates good communication skills.
- Performs in a professional manner and role models a positive image of mental health.
- Recognizes, responds to, and assists in psychiatric crisis situations and provides the intervention necessary.
- Performs other capacities as needed.
Compensation will vary depending on experience and credential.
