What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Facilitator position at Treatment Centers of America?
Positional Purpose:
The Group Facilitator is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities as directed by the attending Clinical Director. He/She will be responsible for conducting groups and works in collaboration with the Treatment Team to access patient’s needs.
Specific Areas of Responsibility to Position:
1. Reinforces stated treatment goals and objectives that are measurable.
2. Participates effectively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews, demonstrating adequate preparation and understanding of patient issues, progress, areas of resistance, positive and negative strategies, etc.
3. Documents the patient’s progress accurately as it relates to treatment goals and objectives.
4. Assists patients in gaining group process skills.
5. Addresses problem behaviors.
6. Utilizes experiential techniques effectively.
7. Creates atmosphere in which self-disclosure is facilitated.
8. Conducts educational groups (lectures/videos/discussions) effectively.
9. Adheres to time schedules.
10. Assists patients gain insight into problems.
11. Assists patients in understanding treatment goals.
12. Gives patients a clear picture of where he/she stands with regard to progress toward recovery as seen by the therapist and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
13. Enforces program rules and regulations in a firm but fair manner.
14. Confronts and documents counter-productive behavior appropriately.
15. Bonds with patients and elicits respect.
16. Adapts to different types of patients.
17. Identifies patient strengths and weaknesses.
18. Maintains healthy boundaries.
19. Understands and applies the program’s clinical philosophy.
20. Demonstrates good strategic and problem-solving skills.
21. Effective in finding needed resources.
22. Maintains clinical records according to program policies and those of licensing and accrediting agencies.
23. Ensures that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate.
24. Ensures clinical documentation is completed timely to include general and DAP notes.
25. Keeps clinical records secure at all times.
26. Accepts and utilizes supervision.
27. Addresses problems noted by supervisor.
28. Communicates with supervisor and keeps supervisor informed of significant case developments.
29. Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility.
30. Participates in Quality Improvement activities and contributes to the welfare of the organization.
31. Pursues professional development through participation in education and training programs.
32. Has good work habits: gets things done in a timely, efficient manner.
33. Functions well as a team member and contributes positively to the morale of staff.
34. Maintains good communication.
35. Completes Incident reports as required.
36. Demonstrates knowledge of working with clients with substance abuse issues.
37. Performs other duties as assigned.
