About Your Dream Role

We’re looking for someone with a passion for pizza and the law (not necessarily in that order). We’re a fast-paced business, operating in multiple directions at once, which means we’re in need of someone who can cast their eagle eyes* on to any legal matter - no pigeonholes, just a big beautiful legal eagle sky to soar across! 

You’ll be part of our superhero Legal Team (no cape necessary**). Commercial, consumer product, IP, data privacy (you may regularly cheer: gimme a G! Gimme a D! Gimme a P! Gimme an R! And you’ll mean it!), and potentially even Egyptian maritime law (experience of driving tankers through straits and/or dealing with dire straits an advantage…) - all this glory and more awaits your talons to tackle. You will be creative and assured in your ability to explore legal issues, like ask the right questions at the right time, asking a few wrong ones just for fun, seek guidance where appropriate and presenting your recommended path forward, possibly shouting “You can’t handle the truth!” whilst doing so. 

Ooni has a hybrid approach to work, with 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) in person. Most of your in-office time would be spent at our office at Edinburgh Park, but you are always welcome to spend some time at our Product hub in Broxburn, West Lothian.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be happy working in a small, but mighty Legal Team. This means that a wide variety of legal questions are likely to be thrown your way. Every day is a school day.
• If you’ve done this role in a fast-growing consumer goods business, even better!
• You will fundamentally understand the role of legal in a growing kick-ass business. 
• You will be comfortable translating complicated legal concepts into easy-to-understand information for your non-legal work colleagues.
• Building strong trusting relationships with both work colleagues and external stakeholders comes naturally to you.
• You have an inquisitive mind that allows you to pre-empt issues before they become challenges.
• You will jump into, and be a part of, the people first culture here at Ooni. This is a definite non-negotiable.
• At some point, you've likely binged Suits or admired The Good Wife and dreamed of delivering that perfect legal zinger. This interview may require your sharpest legal wit and maybe even your best Harvey Specter confidence. Are you ready to make your case that this role is yours?

What you’ll need to succeed:

• You’ll be a qualified lawyer (obviously), in UK law with broad generalist experience.
• As a rough guide, you‘ll be 1-3 years PQE, but we are willing to look at more experienced candidates too. 
• Self-starting mentality with the ability to deliver quality every time.
