Our client are a global chemical manufacturing firm based in Texas and are seeking an exceptional Director of Procurement to lead our global sourcing strategies, optimize spend categories, and ensure operational excellence in procurement. This is a high-impact role, ideal for a leader who excels in contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and business development to drive competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement Leadership – Develop and execute global procurement strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
- Spend Management – Oversee multimillion-dollar spend categories, leveraging data-driven insights to drive cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
- Value Delivery & Cost Optimization – Identify and implement cost-down initiatives while maintaining quality, reliability, and innovation in sourcing.
- Contract Negotiation & Supplier Management – Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships, leading complex negotiations to secure best-in-class contracts and pricing agreements.
- Business Development & Acquisition – Partner with executive leadership on M&A activities, integrating procurement strategies into business expansion efforts.
- Cross-functional Collaboration – Work closely with R&D, operations, finance, and commercial teams to ensure seamless supply chain management and innovation in sourcing.
- Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure procurement operations align with regulatory requirements, sustainability goals, and ESG initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of procurement leadership experience in the chemical manufacturing industry or a related sector.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier negotiations.
- Strong business acumen, with experience in P&L management, cost reduction, and driving value creation.
- Expertise in M&A, supplier due diligence, and post-merger integration.
- Ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
- Deep knowledge of global supply chain trends, commodity markets, and procurement best practices.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
