Psychiatric Office seeks Medical Assistant/Receptionist with previous medical office experience to handle front desk duties in the Jacksonville, FL office. At OPA Behavioral Health we strive to provide compassionate, professional, and individualized mental health services to our patients. We are looking for an energetic individual who can join our team and bring forth a friendly personality, show genuine/compassionate care, and offer assertive communication skills towards our valuable patients (both in person and via phone).

DAILY TASKS include but are not limited to:

  • Professionally greeting patients for appointments, and confirming their information.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments for the Providers.
  • Gathering paperwork required from the patient.
  • Check-in / Check-out procedures.
  • Collecting co-payments and coinsurance amounts from patients.
  • This is not a sedentary position. From time to time, it requires standing/walking and be actively involved in the front desk area, rooming patients, and making sure the office looks clean and presentable at all times.
  • Taking daily vitals (blood pressure, pulse, weight, and height).
  • Administering daily UDT's (urine drug tests).
  • Answering phone calls, text messages, and emails on a daily basis.
  • Faxing, scanning, and data entry.
  • Achieving Medical Records requests.
  • Assisting with Interpretation (English/Spanish) when applicable.
  • Multitasking and Flexibility of various clerical duties.
  • Strong marketing skills and reaching out to nearby medical offices/hospitals/agencies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is required due to the high number of Spanish speaking patients.
  • Certified Medical Assistant is required.
  • Experience in working in a medical office setting with a Minimum of 1 yr. experience (with the understanding of HIPAA laws).
  • Applicant must be polished and have a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Applicant must have the ability to multi-task and have a working knowledge of insurance terminology and claims processes.
  • Meticulous and detailed oriented, paying attention to correct data entry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, spreadsheets)
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with EHR/EMR systems, email, faxing/scanning.

  • The ideal candidate is responsible for own duties and is also a team player by being thoughtful and considerate of all coworkers, Providers, and Management.

--> Hours will consist of Mon- Fri (9am to 6pm) (No weekends).

--> Pay will be based on experience and qualifications.

--> This is a full time job, W2.

--> Location: JACKSONVILLE, FL

*NOTE: The candidate will be expected to work at the office location in JACKSONVILLE. This is not remote work.
