Job Position: Children’s Ministry Assistant Director
Job type: Part-Time (5 – 7 hours per week)
Salary: $14-15/hr. based on experience
This is a paid part-time Bi-Vocational Position
Education: High School Diploma Required (Associates Degree Preferred)
Experience: 1 – 2 years of experience in the children’s ministry as a volunteer or staff member.
Summary Position:
We are looking for a person who is gifted in working with children, someone who is passionate, hard-working, and a creative leader who has a vision of leading as many children as possible into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Someone who is goal oriented and wants to make a difference in the Ministry. This person will be working with parents, staff, and volunteers as well.
Qualifications:
· Have a heart for seeing kids: From birth through 6th grade.
· Highly motivated, energetic, positive, fun, goal-oriented individual with the desire to grow in Children’s Ministry.
· Have a creative and energetic approach to sharing the gospel with kids.
· Understand and support the vision, mission, and ministry of OBBC.
· Ability to think creatively, work independently, and work as part of a team.
· Ability to have basic office skills including typing and copying and to know how to utilize technology and social media and/or willingness to learn and grow these skills.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to complete assignments with little guidance.
· Proficient with time management skills to arrive on time and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
· Able to work under pressure and know how to multi-task with great problem-solving skills.
· Engage in opportunities for ongoing spiritual growth including worship, bible study, journey groups, and mission trips.
· Must pass a background check
· Committed follower of Jesus Christ, active member, or will become an active member of OBBC.
Responsibilities:
· Work with the Children’s Ministry Director to plan and implement programs and activities to build a spiritual foundation for children 0 – 6th grade.
· Report directly and communicate with the Director on any needs, concerns, or issues as they arise.
· Help the Nursery by providing a clean, safe, nurturing, learning environment for children birth to Pre-K through a variety of age-appropriate activities including music, bible stories, art, dance, and play.
· Assist in goals and projects of OBBC’s Children's Ministry as a whole, and help to complete Children’s Ministry project as assigned.
· Oversee the Nursery staff to create and maintain a schedule for all staff (days off, sick, holidays, etc.)
· To fill all shifts when nursery staff call off sick or request time off if a shift cannot be filled by another staff member.
· To communicate with parents and church members in a positive manner.
· To train all new staff and review old staff and continue to train, refresh, and bring new ideas to the team.
· Help with overseeing special events for kids such as Sports Camp, VBS, Christmas programs, and other seasonal experiences.
· Attend OBBC’s staff meetings, Leadership Training, and Children’s Ministry meetings.
· Work closely with staff and volunteers to build and maintain a strong team environment and complete the work necessary to fully serve the Ministry.
· To assist and help in all other areas if needed for the Children’s Ministry.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
