JOB SUMMARY
This position provides therapeutic support for youth in foster care in a residential setting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete 7-day service plan for each new resident.
- Complete Referral acceptance upon intake for each resident.
· Create Safety plan with each child.
- Attend all MDT meetings as scheduled and scan documentation into resident's file.
· Evaluate and approve or deny all placement/discharge requests; document in electronic database within 24 hours of receipt of referral.
- Process and supervise all therapeutic interns;
· Attend all required Court hearings as needed
· Consult with caseworkers, probation officers, etc. for coordination of services for each resident;
- Attend weekly case reviews with direct care staff
- Collaborate on individual service plans, and contribute to organizational goals.
- Fill out caregiver declaration and update UA for children who need a MWO waiver and coordinate with director.
- Assist with organizing activities to ensure a structured and enriching environment for the residents.
- Provide support for ODCH Staff.
- Schedule psychological evaluations;
- Schedule psychiatric evaluations;
· Schedule and provide individual therapy;
- Schedule and provide group therapy (ex., anger management, substance abuse, parenting classes, etc.) at least once a week per home.
· Schedule all required therapeutic follow-up appointments;
· Consult with mental health practitioners for coordination of care;
· Provide crisis intervention for each resident as needed;
- Develop and implement long-term therapeutic programs for each resident;
Discuss with each resident weekly progress reports
Schedule and lead community meetings;
Review resident grievances;
- Review situations requiring resident removal;
· Conduct supervised visitations between residents and family when required; Attend staff meetings and training as required.
· Accept on-call duties for one week every seven weeks.
· Evaluate need for hospitalization, behavior interventions, and de escalation
· Fill out incident reports
- NOTE: Included in the duties of your job is the requirement that from time to time you may be required to work overtime with some weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must provide proof of a valid LPC or LCSW License;
- Supervisory experience must be in a residential child care facility or related area;
- Must reside within a 45 minute drive of the Open Door Home;
- Must be 21 years old or older;
- Must possess a valid driver's license;
- Must have no criminal history record convictions of misdemeanor or felony offenses from any state;
· Must be able to pass a medical examination, to include level ten drug screening;
- Must be able to relate to and work well with other staff, children, volunteers, board members, agency personnel, family members, public, etc.;
- Must possess good organizational and administrative skills;
- Must be able to delegate;
· Must be able to work well under pressure, handle emergency situations and crises;
· Experience working with youth who have experienced trauma;
· TBRI practitioner training a plus.
