Open Doors English Administrative Assistant Job Description
The Open Doors English (ODE) administrative assistant supports the daily operations of ODE and assists the co-directors. This position encompasses a wide variety of duties that are both community-facing and behind-the-scenes. Candidates must be adaptable to shifting organizational needs and priorities and be able to learn new technology and systems. This position is 20 hours per week.
ODE educators and staff must respect students and their myriad cultures, languages, and experiences. ODE serves a unique and vulnerable population, and it is essential for ODE staff to hold students’ gifts and needs in high regard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- serve as a receptionist and provide information to students, teachers, volunteers, and community members
- assist with event planning
- create and coordinate social media posts; including photographing school activities and events
- process and manage tuition payments and donations
- maintain student and donor records
- assist in writing grants, applying for sponsorships, and fundraising
- assist in student recruitment and marketing efforts
- support in creation of newsletters, appeals, and other program communications
- conduct outreach to local media for coverage opportunities
- coordinate and organize informational presentations for classes
- assist in recruitment, interviewing, and coordination of program volunteers
- maintain open and clear communication with ODE co-directors and colleagues
- Other duties as assigned by co-directors
