We are currently reviewing applications and resumes for the position of ESL Teacher at our Open Hearts Language Academy Aventura Campus.
Schedule:
MORNING: 9:00 am-12:45 pm/ 1:00 pm-2:00 pm
Pay is determined based on your qualifications listed on your resume ($23-$25.00).
The student population is adults at Open Hearts Language Academy which is a reputable English School.
Responsibilities and Duties
Teachers will teach ESL to adults, prepare their classes, and complete any paperwork pertaining to the job.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must meet one of these requirements:
· Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ESL/TESOL.
· Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with ESL/TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification and a minimum of 1 year of documented experience teaching ESL to an adult population.
· Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field and possess at least 5 years of ESL teaching experience with ESL/TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification.
Bachelor’s degrees in a related field include:
1. Linguistics
2. Applied Linguistics
3. Modern Languages
4. English / Literature
5. Education
All applicants should have native or native-like communication.
Acceptable Certification Tools
Hired candidates who have yet to obtain their TESOL/ TEFL/ESL certification will be required to receive their ESL/TESOL or TEFL certification from an accredited institution or program offering a minimum of 100 - 120 hours of coursework. This will need to be completed within 90 days of hire.
Other Candidates
Any new teacher candidates who hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and do not have a minimum of 1 year of documented experience teaching ESL to an adult population, will have to complete our Adult Practicum program within 30 days of hire.
