What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Exhibits & Events position at Open Opportunities?
The Company:
Czarnowski is one of the four studios of the Czarnowski Collective. It combines operations, strategy, design, and fabrication to create exhibits and events that engage communities, generate brand enthusiasm, and educate consumers. It’s been over 75 years since we opened our doors, but we’re still not resting on our reputation or accolades. We’re wondering “what if...” anticipating what’s next and embracing our role within the Czarnowski Collective as forward-thinkers for forward-thinking brands.
Joining the Czarnowski Collective means the opportunity to be more than a number, more than a job title, more than a spectator. We are a collective of dreamers and thinkers, doers, and makers…and we’re searching for more of the same to join the ranks.
The Purpose:
We're looking for a hands-on Project Manager to oversee new production projects from start to finish. You'll ensure projects run smoothly, stay on budget, and meet deadlines while collaborating with internal teams and vendors. The Job:
- Assist the Account Director (AD) and/or Account Manager (AM) in driving new construction pricing.
- Take ownership of project budgets and ensure financial accuracy throughout production.
- Enter all production work into the Czarnowski system based on the COMS work order "AS SOLD" submitted by the account team.
- Utilize Czarnowski's web-based workflow system to manage project progress.
- Support project launch meetings with AD and AM to streamline project flow through production.
- Develop and oversee project timelines, ensuring alignment with department schedules.
- Communicate key production deadlines to client services and assist in overall timeline development.
- Review and approve CAD drawings, ensuring design accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Oversee production processes and fabricated items, collaborating with shop leads and production managers.
- Assist logistics coordinators in managing warehouse inventory and transportation planning.
- Report quality control concerns to the appropriate department managers.
This position is evaluated based on production knowledge, project completion success, and the ability to manage production timelines. The Project Manager will be assessed on their coordination of CAD, fabrication, and warehouse activities, communication effectiveness with account teams, and overall project profitability.
The Person:
- Minimum 3-5 years in project management within the exhibit, event, or custom fabrication industry.
- Strong understanding of fabrication methods, including carpentry, metalwork, paint production, tension fabric, and graphic production.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CAD software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and oversee cross-functional teams.
