COMPENSATION : $79,000 - $83,000 Salary (exempt)

PUBLIC TRANSIT PROXIMITY : &fac12; block from F Line, 1 block from Bus lines 6 & 7

SCHEDULE (Specific) : Number of hrs. per week : 40hrs / week 9am-5 : 30pm (partial flexibility)

Days of the week : M-F

POSITION SUMMARY : Openhouse seeks a compassionate and innovative Manager of Direct Care Services (MDC) with

experience engaging older adults and working within communities that are intersectionally diverse. This leadership role

will support 2SLGBTQ seniors by ensuring they have access to formal and informal supports to live with dignity and age

independently in the community. The ideal candidate embodies an understanding of equity versus equality, healthy

boundaries, and uses a trauma-informed approach to support the needs of communities who have been marginalized by

systems of care.

The MDC is one of two managers in Openhouse's Community Support Services department. The MDC supervises 3

programs : DAS (Dept. of Disability and Aging) Case Management, CoC (Continuum of Care) Case Management, and the

Mental Health Program. The MDC is a self-starter who is passionate about building social connections and advocacy,

possesses innovative ideas, and the energy and impeccable organizational skills to motivate and support their team to

meet the service needs of 2SLGBTQ elders. In this time, Openhouse Community Support Services are even more

critical. Our mission of increasing access to 2SLGBTQ -aging affirming services, reducing social isolation, and increasing

community connectedness for 2SLGBTQ seniors lives at the heart of everything we do. The most successful MDC is an

individual who proactively brings their love for working with elders and a positive attitude to work and who thrives in an

ever-evolving, fast-paced, generative work environment.

older adults to overcome the unique challenges they face as they age by providing LGBTQ-welcoming housing,

resources, high-impact direct services, and innovative community programs. As a result, Openhouse reduces isolation

and empowers LGBTQ older adults to improve their overall health, well-being, and economic security.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Experience providing supervision for case management, counseling, or housing programs / staff serving older

adults or other vulnerable communities. (Required)

  • Experience providing direct service provision to diverse older adults or other marginalized communities.
  • Required)

  • Experience engaging in crisis intervention with individuals experiencing high acuity mental health, substance
  • use, and / or other high-intensity needs. (Required)

  • Experience collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to effectively build community partnerships. (Required)
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and ability to recognize and affirm that 2SLGBTQ
  • older adults live at intersections of race, ethnicity, class, culture, HIV status, sexual orientation, gender, gender

    identity, spirituality, and ability. (Required)

    SKILLS :

  • Exceptional strong organizational skills; ability to oversee multiple administrative systems and ensure fulfillment
  • of staff deliverables, as agreed upon in program contracts. (Required)

  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks. (Required)
  • Ability to give / receive feedback with care and thought. (Required)
  • Strong de-escalation, conflict management, and problem-solving skills. (Required)
  • Ability to build and grow relationships with community partners. (Required)
  • Sensitivity to and knowledge of the unique life experiences, challenges, and strengths of 2SLGBTQ community

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn software programs and online databases

  • Conversational skills in Spanish, Cantonese, and / or Mandarin (Highly Valued).
  • COMPENSATION : Compensation is commensurate with experience. The range is $79k-83k annually plus benefits.

    vibrant, collaborative and supportive work environment. This position is eligible to participate in a 401(k) first day of the

    quarter following one year of service with an agency match.
