Position Overview:
As part of the Open Road Collision group DBA Bill Knight Collision, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality collision repair services with exceptional customer care. Our team is dedicated to restoring vehicles to pre-accident conditions while making the repair process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our customers. We're currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Discovery Technician.
Discovery Technicians play a critical role in the repair process by performing detailed vehicle inspections to identify all damage resulting from a collision. This position supports accurate repair planning, ensures proper documentation of damage, and facilitates a seamless workflow between estimators, body technicians, and insurance partners. The Discovery Technician acts as a bridge between disassembly and estimation, ensuring no damage goes unnoticed and contributing to safe, thorough, and cost-effective repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive teardown and inspection of vehicles to uncover all collision-related damage, including hidden structural and mechanical issues.
- Document all findings clearly and accurately, including photographs, notes, and repair recommendations.
- Work closely with estimators to update repair plans and ensure accurate parts ordering.
- Communicate with technicians and parts departments to coordinate timely repair processes.
- Identify any supplemental damage and report it promptly to estimators and management.
- Ensure all disassembled parts are properly labeled, stored, and protected.
- Follow OEM repair procedures and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support a team environment focused on quality repairs and customer satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices, technology, and equipment.
