Operation Stand Down Rhode Island is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and Rhode Island’s primary nonprofit resource for homeless and at-risk veterans. Our mission is to strengthen the veteran community by providing crucial wrap-around services.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with 3-5 years of experience to manage daily financial transactions among several grants. The ideal candidate will have expertise in QuickBooks Online and be familiar with maintaining accounts payable/receivable. This position provides a crucial support to our finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable and receivable
• Record financial transactions in QuickBooks Online and ensure accuracy
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations
• Collaborate with team members and assist with other accounting tasks as needed
• Provide support during audits by preparing requested financial information
• Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial documents

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• 3-5 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online; experience with other accounting software is a plus
