Machine Operator Core Functions :
Drill operators
independently set up and operate multiple NC (numerically controlled) machines simultaneously to drill holes, slots, counter-bore, etc. in panels per customer requirements.
Deburr Operators
Removes excess metal and surface defects from aerospace hardware or machined surfaces using pneumatic or handheld abrasive wheels or belted grinding equipment.
Uses abrasive belt or wheel according to customer specifications or type of finish specified, product being polished, or amount of metal to be removed, using knowledge of polishing operations and abrasives. Monitors abrasive wheel or belt for wear.
Operates polisher, grinder, or deburring tools and removes metal and surface defects or contours edges of components based on specifications of blue-prints or work instructions.
Inspects work for acceptability of finish. Moves finished components to next workstation for further processing.
Performs other work as assigned by the supervisor.
