Description:

The senior project manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that support the entire organization. This position is responsible for managing resources, schedules, financials and control guidelines through the full project life cycle. The senior project manager runs projects on a day-to-day basis and verifies that the projects produce the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the desired outcomes. These factors may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management to deliver business value.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of initiatives that span various departments and divisions of the organization
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team members by motivating team members to meet project goals, adhere to specific responsibilities and milestones
  • Manage all aspects of multiple projects to ensure overall program is aligned with and supports achievement of strategic objectives
  • Report on project metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Host regular SCRUM meetings with Applications Development team to review Project priorities and work with department heads to eliminate barriers
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials and other documents needed for successful implementation
  • Responsible for administrative functions, such as scheduling and timely correspondence for project team requests
  • Process mapping and documentation
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects
  • 5 years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • 1 years of previous experience with gathering requirements from the client / business and documentation
  • 3 years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, Visio / LucidChart, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior Leadership 
  • Experience with project management software - Jira / Confluence a plus
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
