Job Overview
The Operational Technical Services (OTS) team is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our growing roster of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, clean, repair, replace and maintain piping, valves, motors, grinders, pumps, aerators, screens, compressors, filters, clarifiers, UV disinfection system, chemical feed systems and related equipment; assist in major treatment plant repairs as necessary.
- Perform treatment plant rounds inspecting, monitoring, and documenting plant operations by reading plant equipment gauges, dials, computer screens, graphs, and other instrumentation, adjusting process controls as directed by the Chief Plant Operator.
- Identify operational problems and ensure they are corrected.
- Support safety standards established by federal, state, and local laws, ordinances and regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current California Grade I, II, III Wastewater Certification required.
- 1-5 years of previous experience in a similar position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CA driver's license.
- Class B CDL desirable.
