Job Title: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
Operational Technical Services (OTS) is a leading provider of certified water treatment, distribution, wastewater treatment, and collection professionals. We offer temporary, temp to hire, direct hire, and emergency on-call opportunities.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain piping, valves, motors, grinders, pumps, aerators, screens, compressors, filters, clarifiers, UV disinfection systems, and chemical feed systems.
- Assist in major treatment plant repairs and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and document plant operations by reading equipment gauges, computer screens, graphs, and other instrumentation.
- Identify operational problems and ensure they are corrected.
- Support safety standards established by federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Current California Grade I, II, III Wastewater Certification required
- 1-5 years of previous experience in a similar position
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CA driver's license
- Class B CDL desirable
Must-Haves for Role:
- Utility Pants: Employees must wear durable utility pants suitable for the work environment.
- Safety Shoes: Steel-toed or other appropriate safety shoes are mandatory to protect against workplace hazards.
- Candidates must consent to and pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
