Summary

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Fort Washington. In this role, you will assist in providing high-quality patient care by performing various clinical tasks and supporting our ophthalmologists in delivering comprehensive eye examinations. We are a small but very busy office, and we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary eye exams and tests, including measuring visual acuity and taking patient histories. Doctors do their own refractions and iop.
  • Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage patient flow and ensure a smooth front desk operation.
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care as well as general eye health.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to enhance patient experience.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a similar healthcare role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology.
  • Proficient in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical tasks.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
