Opitz OUTLET, a specialty retailer who sells upscale apparel, shoes & accessories at 70% off retail is seeking a Full-time experienced Tailor-Seamstress-Alterations professional who specializes in alterations and/or tailoring and has an understanding of garment construction of men’s and women’s apparel.

Skill Summary:

· Working knowledge of garment construction of men’s and women’s apparel.

· Excellent knowledge and understanding of fabric characteristics (silk, linens etc.)

· Knowledge, understanding and experience with alterations/tailoring concepts, procedures and practices.

· Demonstrated ability to perform high quality sewing and alterations including hand sewing and use of industrial sewing machines.

· Capability to work with beading or other special fabrics.

· Ability to complete multiple alterations in a timely and accurate manner.

· Able to work well independently and in a team environment, in a fast-paced alterations department.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

· Experience in Alterations, apparel construction, costume making preferred

· Experience in operation of a variety of sewing machines.

· Utilize sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to ensure high-quality finishes.

· Ability to sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items

· Attention to detail

· Strong eye-hand coordination

· Manual dexterity

· Good communication and organizational skills

· Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

· Ability to manage time and prioritize
