What are the responsibilities and job description for the Injection Process Technician 3rd shift position at OPmobility?
Competences requirements,
Technician certification with a speciality in several of the following fields (mechanical, electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics).
Robotics and application processes.
Spoken and written English ability would be helpful, not essential.
Ability to start, stop and troubleshoot injection machines, robots, material feed systems, and EOAT (End of Arm Tool) - (Engel, Krauss Maffei, and Husky machines a plus, as well as Kuka robots and Piovan systems).
Preferred Experience 3-5 years in injection.
Deploys structured solving problem process (POMS A3).
Computer skills.
Team player, flexible, rigorous regarding respect of standards and rules, HSE instructions, good communication and oral capabilities.
Missions
According to POMS (production/Quality/time and cost) standards, set moulding machines, robots and auxiliaries, analyze and corrects deviations in such way that machine OEE is improved:
- Work in 3 shift.
- On-call duty.
IPI and/or main deliverables
For the shift:
- Safety in injection line.
- Raw material optimization.
- OEE Moulding.
- Tool change overtime, Moulding Scrap, RFT and cycle time improvement.
- Standardization.
- Injection assessment results.
Main activities
- Works according to HSE requirements (LOTO, mould changes…) and promotes safety mindset on day to day basis.
- Deploys injection standards and golden rules on during the production shift.
- Sets the IMM (liaising with plant Injection process engineer), starts and stops the machines and ancillaries, and changes the tool according to production plan and safety rules.
- Supports the injection team in monitoring and documenting machine start up (parameters, QA write-ups, initial part approval).
- Eliminates small technical problems.
- Supports the injection team in production monitoring and documentation.
- Collects production data and enters them into appropriate system (such as SAP, WILLE, MATTEC), when required.
- Contributes to continuous improvement process.
- Ensures cleanliness and tidiness of injection moulding area.
- Ensures reuse of grinding stock.
- Reports any malfunction and defects or hazards to superior forthwith.
- May relieve fellow team members for their breaks.
Competencies
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Must have a clear understanding of injection molding processes
- Must have an understanding of the basic computer skills
- Must have the ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs without assistance
- Must be able to bend, squat, and reach to achieve machine connections.
- Must be able to distinguish colors (mold and machine connections are color-coded)
- Must be able to work over time to support vacation and call-out coverage
- Must be able to operate an overhead crane safely and proficiently in accordance with Opmobility’s training certification. (No other training certifications are valid)
