MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of manufacturing plant production equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities & Activities
Responsibility 1:
- Promote a safe working environment and implement / participate in safety improvements
- Support the assigned zone to meet target metrics
- Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical/hydraulics/pneumatics and electronic (PLC) issues
- Perform all levels of preventative maintenance and maintain maintenance log books
- Participate in blow molder and assembly equipment tool changes
- Support special projects such as machinery moves, launches, and continuous improvement
- Documentation of work performed in clear and concise form
Responsibility 2:
- Participate in SMED and TPM events and apply concepts in daily activities
- Complete assigned worked orders
- Conduct technical safety training (LOTO, Stop 5, Top Safety)
- Write / update LOTO instructions
- Perform technical safety audits
- Write / update PM/CM work instructions
- Lead 8D / issue technical bulletin after significant downtime events
- Coaching / mentoring of new skilled trades team members
- Basic Fanuc / ABB robot: touch up points, re-master, PMs, change motors/cables
- Assist Process Engineers with the process specifications and during trials
- Able to manage projects: define scope, get quotes, purchase parts, schedule implementation, provide documentation and training
- Proficient in: Weld adjustments / Weld quality basics / Helium leak test troubleshooting / Hydraulics schematics / Carriage and swivel troubleshooting / Safety relays and light curtains / Mechanical prints / Electrical troubleshooting electrical schematics electrical safety / Drive troubleshooting / Basic BMM controls function: TSMB, doubles, high speed singles / Grinder safety controls / PM CM of central services / Siemens S7 connect and troubleshoot as needed
Responsibility 3:
- Full understanding of the LOTO concepts, and its application
- Method, devices, and instructions used to lockout/tagout machinery
- Choice of appropriate level of LOTO (when we have to apply complete LOTO, or partial LOTO or “door locked” only)
- Able to perform risk analysis before LOTO and work performed inside machines
- Ability to train and coach other technicians on LOTO and safe work practices
- Responsible to advise when standard work instructions are not covering a necessary specific activity
- Responsible to check the correct application of LOTO, in line with procedures
Responsibility 4:
- Authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality or safety issue arises
- Work requires walking, talking, seeing, hearing, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing
- Must be able to lift up to 33lbs on a regular basis
- Work requires working under high and low temperatures at certain times
