JOB TITLE: HSE ADVISOR
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide HSE assurance during decommissioning / disconnection activities. Provide overall oversight of Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance, with Vessel SMS, project specific plans, approved regulatory documentation, and applicable Company policies.
- The Offshore HSE Advisor will report to Senior Company Service Rep (CSR) on a day-to-day basis and will liaise with office-team through the Perth based disconnect scope Project Engineer and HSE Advisor.
- The specialist day-to-day activities will include:
- Provide Lead support within Company offshore team in all aspects of safety, health, and environmental issues.
- Act as offshore Custodian of the Environmental Commitments Register (ECR),
- Coordinate documentary evidence collection for monthly and close-out reporting.
- Support project in ensuring HSE compliance offshore, ensure Safety Case / Revision (SCR) commitments are met and perform regular HSE assurance audits and inspections in the areas of key business and vessel operations.
- Attend all pre-job, planning, safety and client meetings daily and as required, engage and provide advice on HSE related matters. Focus to be given to all high-risk activities, with active participation in planning process and follow up assurance.
- Ensure all training, risk assessments, tool-box meetings, and drills are implemented per project requirements and gather documentary evidence to meet Company requirements.
- Provide necessary HSE inputs to Daily Progress Reports.
- Actively participate in, support and promote the Vessels Behavioural Based Safety systems.
- Actively participate in all incident investigations.
- Provide company representation in conducting HSE training and orientation to all new arrivals offshore, particular emphasis to be given on requirements of current operations, environmental stewardship and the Companies Environmental Risk Management Plan.
- Ensure all worksites are HSE compliant with both Contractor and Company policies and safety standards.
- Ensure familiarisation with all key project documentation including Safety Case, Safety Case Revision, Environmental Risk Management Plan, Offshore Pollution Emergency Plan and other pertinent requirements.
- Assist with onshore “readiness” audit requirements and develop an offshore audit schedule.
- Assist in the development of HSE Plans and monitoring schedules
- Ensure familiarisation with the Company chemical Management process and conduct weekly environmental inspections
- Prepare and run the weekly Company HSE Meetings
- Assist in ad-hoc HSE tasks/projects as required and as instructed.
- Additional activities may be requested from time to time for additional onshore support including:
- Provision of ad hoc support / coverage for the Onshore HSE Advisor and;
- in other short-term projects, as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Minimum requirement of a Cert IV in OHS or similar, (additional qualifications would be viewed favourably).
- Qualifications in QHSE or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of the NOPSEMA Regulatory Framework, including
- Safety Case Regime and Environmental Approvals process.
- ISO 31000 training.
- Certification - Offshore Medical (UKOG), T/BOSIET (OPITO), CA EBS (OPITO),
- Sound knowledge - Office 365 suite of application (especially MS Excel)
- Demonstrated ability in report writing.
- Demonstrated team player, with good inter-personal skills.
- Excellent communicator
- Demonstrated strength in organising and ability to prioritise key tasks
- Ability to show initiative and drive HSE related projects and initiatives.
