Towne Insurance is hiring a talented Account Executive to support our Charlotte market commercial team. The Account Executive - Commercial lines will provide professional guidance to existing clients by managing the renewal process, marketing process, and interim client needs for existing book of business in coordination with account managers and risk advisors.

About the Role
- Manage and retain existing book of business of middle market/large commercial insurance clients.
- Oversees the renewal process, to include marketing, negotiating with underwriters, creating rate/cost/loss analysis exhibits and maintains regular contact with the client and risk advisor throughout the process.
- Handles cross-selling and coordinates support of referrals with the risk advisor.
- Counsels clients on coverage needs, policy language, projected costs and other items.
- Maintains significant client interaction in-person and via telephone/email.
- Reviews and comments on leases, sub-contracts, and other documents.
- Assists with drafting insurance requirements, indemnification language, and other items.
- Crafts Stewardship reports and semi-annual claim reviews as needed.
- Resolves loss control recommendations, audit issues, and coverage problems.
- Attends carrier meetings, industry conferences, and periodic client entertainment events.
- Works in direct support of risk advisors and commercial claims associates to intervene in the claims process, as needed, to interpret coverage language, assist with communication, and reach favorable resolution.
- Completes assigned educational responsibilities.
- Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience you’ll need:
- 10 years combined industry experience with at least two of those years in an account executive role managing middle market/large commercial accounts
- Extensive coverage knowledge in all lines of commercial insurance
- Established network of contacts with underwriters, good relationships, and an understanding of each carrier’s appetite
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong analytical skills for analyzing insurance coverage forms and strategizing solutions.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Microsoft Products experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Active P&C License
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with retrospective rating, large deductible programs
- Strong consultative sales skills
- Self-directed and creative problem solving skills
- Prior Experience working with insurance software, preferably Applied Systems
