The Crisis Residential House Manager is responsible for the daily operations and oversight of the Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU) , ensuring a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment for clients. This role involves facilitating client enrollment , coordinating with community agencies and hospitals for referrals , and managing staff scheduling to maintain 24 / 7 coverage. The House Manager plays a key role in supporting individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis and ensuring high-quality, client-centered care. Key Responsibilities Client Enrollment & Intake Coordination
Ensure timely admission of clients into the RCSU program, following all intake protocols.
Work closely with community stabilization teams, hospitals, law enforcement, CSBs, and crisis response teams to facilitate seamless referrals and placements .
Oversee the completion of intake documentation, assessments, and initial treatment planning to ensure compliance with Medicaid / DMAS requirements.
Collaborate with clinical staff to determine service eligibility and appropriateness for the program.
Community Partnerships & Referral Development
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, emergency departments, law enforcement, mobile crisis teams, and community mental health organizations to enhance the referral pipeline.
Represent the RCSU program at community meetings, networking events, and outreach initiatives to promote services and increase awareness.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external agencies referring clients to the RCSU .
Develop and implement strategies to increase referrals and maintain bed occupancy rates .
Staff Scheduling & Operations Management
Develop bi-weekly / monthly staff schedules to ensure adequate 24 / 7 coverage , adjusting for client needs, emergencies, and staffing shortages.
Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP), and other house staff to ensure quality care and adherence to program policies.
Conduct staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to maintain a high-functioning team.
Ensure staff members follow client safety protocols, crisis intervention procedures, and daily program structure .
Crisis Management & Program Oversight
Ensure the house environment is safe, clean, and therapeutic , addressing any issues that arise.
Assist with crisis interventions and coordinate care with clinical and medical teams as needed.
Oversee daily living activities, medication management procedures, and therapeutic interventions for clients in crisis.
Monitor program effectiveness and suggest operational improvements to enhance client care and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors degree in social work , Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (Masters preferred).
Qualified Mental Health Professional Certification (QMHP) (Not required but preferred)
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in behavioral health, crisis stabilization, residential services, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Medicaid / DMAS regulations, RCSU program requirements, and crisis response protocols .
Experience in staff scheduling, supervision, and team management .
Ability to build and maintain community partnerships to support client referrals and continuity of care.
Strong crisis intervention, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while ensuring quality service delivery.
